About Us

The Last Hope Animal Charity (LHAC) is a not-for-profit charitable, voluntary organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of domestic animals.

We believe that every animal’s life is meaningful and each deserves a loving home.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to rescue stray and injured animals and provide them
with love, shelter, food, human companionship, medical care, and
spay-neuter services until a permanent loving home is found.

Our People

Last Hope is composed of volunteers, willing to foster, transport,
or otherwise assist in this massive rescue effort. We are supported
entirely by donations and fundraisers. No one is a paid employee. We
are all volunteers and pet owners. As the charity is a network of
foster homes, the number of animals LHAC can care for at a given time
depends on the number of available fosterers.

Who We Work With

We work in conjunction with the new Meath Dog pound, the Meath Dog
Wardens, Cavan SPCA, other organisations involved in helping animals
and of course members of the public.

Our Facilities (or Lack of!)

We currently have no facilities for keeping animals so we rely
solely on a network of foster homes to provide accommodation for the
animals in our care.

LHAC will not take surrendered animals into care, however we will do
everything possible to help any owner who can no longer care for an
animal, to find a suitable home for their pet.

Our Policies

LHAC actively supports programs such as Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) which help decrease the number of homeless pets.
